    Research Abstract

The project aims to enhance the instrumentation for doctors, psychologists and social staff with simple scales and questionnaires for senior population. It is based on our previous research, which will be extended on a larger set of people, with new methods and new groups of research subjects. We will use brief cognitive tests (e.g. MMSE, 7MST, verbal and design fluency), questionnaires of activities of daily living (e.g. FAQ-CZ, CZ-DAD, BADLS-CZ) and depression questionnaires (GDS, Beck’s scale). A part of the people will be tested in parallel with standardized neuropsychological tests to assess the quality of short psychometric tools and to identify correctly patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). In total, we plan to examine 200 patients with cognitive deficits (MCI and Alzheimer´s disease) and 600 healthy seniors. The results will be valuable for both clinical practice and future related research projects.
