Palliative care

Please briefly describe the policy

In the Netherlands, palliative care is part of regular health care. The approach of the Dutch government is that palliative care should be provided as much as possible by generalists (general practitioners, nurses and care workers). This is in line with the needs and wishes of terminally ill patients.
