    Research Abstract

The phenotypes of patients deficient for the gene coding for cardiotrophin-like cytokine (CLC) indicate that this protein has multiple roles in the nervous and immune systems, suggesting that it interacts with multiple partners. We identified two of these partners that could have key roles in autoimmune and Alzheimer diseases. We will investigate the immunoregulatory roles of CLC complexed with these molecules and their functions in models of multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer diseases.
